Early and rare fireside chair pair, possibly Dutch. Tall backed chairs with short wings upholstered overall in brown leather, now time worn to a fine antique patina. The leather trimmed in flat dark braid with brass nail heads. With fine carved walnut frames, the curved arms with turned supports and scrolled ends. Elaborate turned H-stretcher and front stretcher. Raised on ball feet in front and block legs in back.
Measures: 25.5” wide by 46” height by 28” deep. Seat height 18”
Condition: leather worn in a mottled finish with some cracks on seats and on one back, arm ends with old gouges, braid worn. The aforementioned is for accuracy as the Pair present exceptionally well.
