Born on May 25, 1892 in Paris, France, Sognot studied at École Bernard-Pablissy before working as a designer at the Au Printemps department store in Paris in 1919. The designer became a founding member of the Union des Artistes Decoroteurs. He died in 1970 in Paris, France.
