Famille Vert Ceramic Chinoiserie Eagle Tea Caddy in Green Early 20th Century

A striking ceramic famille vert Eagle motif tea caddy with lid. This piece is in the Americana or Traditional English style. It is made of crisp white porcelain and is decorated with a rich green hand-painted design. The body features an Eagle with wings spread on both the front and back. The Eagle grasps a quiver of arrows in one talon, and an olive branch in the other. A banner across the bird’s chest reads “Pluribus Unum”. On the lid, a chrysanthemum floral design alongside a Greek key and butterfly decorate the top. The bottom is unmarked. This would be a lovely piece to store tea, coffee, or other items. We come across ceramic tea caddy occasionally, however this piece is rare as it is in a beautiful verdigris green. Truly a unique vessel!
