An important antique 19th Century French Draper’s Table or Table de Drapier made of and crafted Walnut with a rich warm patina, in good condition. The huge top planks of the large tailors are supported by six hand turned columns which are resting on a heavy wooden shelf. This furniture used to be a common feature in the cloth merchant’s shops. Featuring an abundant surface area that would have been used by seamstresses and merchants to cut fabrics. Minor fading, scratches due to age. Wear consistent with age and use, circa 1840 Lyon, France.
