This is an exquisite example of an Antique French Jardinere Planter or better known as “Cachepot”, probably 1760’s it is a Louis the XVI 18th Century hand painted panel Gold gild painted on each side of the pot of a “Sea port in France” probably the Old port of Marseille. The base is made of Bronze Ecantus leaves styled feet, on Gold gild surround. Bronze and Gold Gilt rim with bronze Lion head handles & applied caviar beating surrounding the scene, some missing or worn from the age and use… Overall is in great condition.

The ruby color caviar beating that surrounds the painted scene has a few of them missing, probably from cleaning it or just from age. Other than that it looks good for being over 260 years old.
