1960s Mid Century Modern Walnut Expanding Slat Bench or Coffee Table

This Midcentury Modern slat style expanding bench is versatile because it can be made into two different lengths, and can also be used as a coffee table. It is made in the style of George Nelson, however, there is no Maker’s mark. The bench appears to be made of walnut. The legs are tapered and can be removed for shipping, allowing the bench to ship flat.

At the shortest, the bench is 48” long. At the longest, it is 54.5”. The seat height is 15” and the depth is 18.25”. This would look great in a foyer, living room, or bedroom or wherever additional seating is needed. Alternatively, use it as a coffee table or dining table.

I don’t know the exact age but estimate that it was made in the 1960s. I am also not certain about the country of origin.
