1980s Vintage Asian Ceramic Garden Stools With Calligraphy Design – Set of 2

An amazing find. Two stunning, Asian inspired, classic ceramic garden stools/tables. Ceramic garden stools first came into fashion in China in the early Tang dynasty (618–907), and each successive period has contributed new designs and techniques. They are as versatile as they are decorative. This particular pair is of excellent quality, very heavy ceramic. This allows for a sturdy and substantial seat, table or plant stand. They have a particularly interesting dark gray glaze application, that gives the pieces a subtle metallic appearance. The incised calligraphy design and “paper” stamp gives an authentic Asian vibe. These are elegant as they are useful. Both pieces are in excellent condition. One stool had small chip on bottom of base, see photo. They measure, 11.5ʺW × 11.5ʺD × 16ʺH. These will add a flair to any rooms decor and offer an interesting take on a tried and true classic. Made in China.
