The rust brown field of this informally rendered West Persian village carpet shows an all-over pattern of palmettes, vine segments, rosettes and “Amphora palmettes” in tones of red, chocolate, ivory, light blue and light green. The light olive border shows poly-chrome tilted and erect palmettes and ancillary flowering twigs. The ivory minors display a rosette and V-shaped double leaf motif.
