Vintage Design
Pair of Ceramic, Resin and Copper AcoColay Lamps. Double lighting in the lampshade. Good condition. Height: 144 cm. Diameter: 31 cm. No crack. Accolay pottery was created after the Second World War by 4 former students of Alexandre Kostanda, a ceramist of Polish origin who had worked in Vallauris. Near the Nationale 6, the potters had the idea of using the service stations to exhibit their works and allow tourists passing to appreciate them. The artists, led by André Boutaud, created chess pieces, ceramic characters with a wire structure, varnished earth pieces with ethnic patterns, masks, etc.
