Charta aura table lamp by Studio Palatin Handcrafted, limited edition Dimensions: H 75 x D 35 cm Materials: bronze light, 24K gilding, leather black/gold. Charta Nera is the dark, mysterious cousin to the Charta Alba table lamp. The lamp base is hand crafted in solid bronze, patinated black and stands on a polished gold bronze base plate. It is crowned by a handmade black and gold leather shade that sheds a golden light onto the folds of the black sculptural lamp base. This chic and strong piece is truly the “Harley Davidson” of table lamps. Barbara Palatin-Doyle is an artist, a docent for the Decorative Arts Department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the founder of Studio Palatin. Born and bred in Vienna, the artist lives and works between her home town and New York. She specializes in handcrafted, sculptural lighting in limited editions. Her passions are table lamps and candlesticks. As an artist, she incorporates materials and techniques reflecting the exquisite craftsmanship of the 17th and 18th century in contemporary design, combining art with functionality.
