The oval grey marble insert top above a single frieze drawer, with brass line and star inlay, raised on slender curved legs joined by an oval undertier, ending on slipper feet; stamped CHAPUIS to the drawer interior, for Jean-Joseph Chapuis (1765-1864 Brussels). Chapuis established his first workshop in Brussels in 1798. In 1806 he was called to value French furniture at the château de Laeken and thereafter supplied furniture for the château himself.
Please note, that we have another almost identical gueridon in stock with a white marble top, which could make a great pair with this one.
