Small 1920’s Bakhtiari, Garden Design – Tribal Persian Rug – Rust, Brown, & Navy

Incredible 100 year old tribal, Persian rug hand woven by a member of the Bakhtiari tribe. Easily one of the most renown weavers across the world, Bakhtiaris have an ancient history and instantly recognizable designs, and for that reason they’re incredibly sought after by collectors and interior designers. This design in particular is so popular that different rug weaving cultures around the world and Persia have at one point or another paid homage to this timeless design.

Featuring a 100% Persian wool pile raised, sheared, spun, dyed and handwoven by a member of the Bakhtiari tribe in the early 1920’s. This tribe has a unique weaving style and weave their wool onto sturdy and thick cotton foundations. This piece features a fine weave for Bakhtiaris, newer examples usually feature larger knots and less details, which is another reason why antique pieces are so sought after.

A favorite for many, this Bakhtiari features the classic garden design. This compartmentalized, all over design was invented by this tribe centuries ago and has been a classic since. This eye caching rug is only enhanced with its beautifully aged dyes. It’s rusty and earthy pallet make it pair well with any floor and its bold geometric design allows it to stand out and work with any decor. A mesmerizing piece that will command any space you throw it in and bring joy to any setting.

For being at least 100 years of age, this rug is in incredible condition. Despite their lasting quality, because these pieces are so loved it is hard to find antique examples of these pieces in such great condition. The pile is perfectly intact and their are now known repairs or restorations. it is truly in immaculate original condition. This rug will easily last 200 more years and only grow to be more beautiful!
