Vintage Imperial Yellow Beijing Glass Snuff Bottle

Yellow Beijing glass is a highly desirable color, especially when yellow became the imperial color of the Qingng Dynasty and only he and his empress could wear such a color. This snuff bottle’s yellow color is consistent and judging by the layers of colors from its top, and the way the foot is carved, it can safely be said that this is indeed an older bottle from the early half of the 20th century, way before the mass production of glass bottles towards the end. the flattened rectangular bottle has a good looking graceful form, tapering towards the bottom ending in a short raised oval foot. The original stopper is replaced with an orange glass one encased in brass. The two colors do compliment each other.
